Microsoft Counts on Titanfall to fire up Xbox One Sales



The sci-fi Combat game Titanfall is being bet by Microsoft Corp to be a hit big enough to boost sales of Xbox One videogame device, which will help it to catch up in terms of sales with rival Sony Corp’s PlayStation 4 console.


This game is considered one of the most anticipated new products for the latest version of the Xbox , and hosts over 6000 midnight launch events around the world , which push the Retailers to gear up in order to get in on the buzz that built up around the release of the game.
From Tuesday it will be on sale for the Xbox and personal computers, it costs $ 60 and the game allows players to go toe-to- toe as soldiers, taking control of giant robots in a war-torn urban setting.
The head of marketing and Strategy for Microsoft’s Xbox group Yusuf Mehdi said by an email that they are making a big bet and Titanfall will be a blockbuster lunch for Xbox.
Microsoft will promote the game Titanfall as a part of its campaign at South by Southwest, the annual gathering musician, filmmakers, and tech industry experts under way in Austin, Texas. And it will be available for the older version of Xbox 360 consoles on March 25, and the game is developed by Respawn Entertainment and published by Electronic Arts.
PlayStation 4 beat the Xbox One to become the top selling console in US in January, according to NPD Group, So Microsoft locked a console battle with Japan’s Sony, where it had sold 6 million PlayStation 4 Units on March.
Both companies lunched Xbox One and PlayStation 4 in November last year, but Microsoft does not provide an update on sales since January, and they said at the end of 2013 they sold 3 million units of Xbox One.
